Years of effort have been needed to consolidate ecological sensitivity and consistency throughout the employees’ pyramid so that the environmental care to be found and become a regulatory factor in every major business decision and activity of the company.
It is obvious that the establishment and adoption of environmental policy is not enough to be effective by its own. Long-term, and coordinated efforts, with consistency and continuity, are needed to achieve concrete and significant improvements. In the Lignite mines-Quarries in which the company operates, integrated, systematic and well studied landscape restorations are being made not only after the completion of the mining-quarring activities , but also during the exploitation, according to the mining science rules, the legal requirements, the studies of environmental impact, the associated permits and in full accordance with the ecosystem of each area.
