Years of effort have been needed to consolidate ecological sensitivity and consistency throughout the employees\u2019 pyramid so that the environmental care to be found and become a regulatory factor in every major business decision and activity of the company.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

It is obvious that the establishment and adoption of environmental policy is not enough to be effective by its own. Long-term, and coordinated efforts, with consistency and continuity, are needed to achieve concrete and significant improvements. These efforts begin by designing and developing all new investments by aiming not only to save energy, preserve natural resources and to comply with legislation, but also to the elimination of waste and, if this is not possible, to its safe and responsible disposal. <\/p>

In the Lignite mines-Quarries in which the company operates, integrated, systematic and well studied landscape restorations are being made not only after the completion of the mining-quarring activities , but also during the exploitation, according to the mining science rules, the legal requirements, the studies of environmental impact, the associated permits and in full accordance with the ecosystem of each area.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Special mention should be made of the company\u2019s activity in tree planting and landscaping in the Lignite mines.Indicatively, it is reported that over the last fifteen years the company has proven its sensitivity in the field of the Environment by: <\/p>

  • investing more than \u20ac 1.5 million in measures to protect and restore the environment in its lignite mines<\/li>
  • implementing the planting of more than 170,000 seedlings<\/li><\/ul>

    In addition, the company, in the pursuit of its continuous improvement in the field of environmental protection, has developed a specialized team for:<\/p>
